From the Barahona region of the Dominican Republic, this coffee is considered the best gourmet coffee in the country for its body, delicate acidity, rich aroma and earthy flavours.
In the southwest Caribbean, 2,600 farmers grow coffee on 12,000 hectares. The extreme diversity of the island’s microclimate, topography and persistent humid conditions create the conditions for growing coffee almost all year round. Much of the coffee is grown organically, but many farms are not officially certified.
